Abstract ObjectiveTo explore the effect of different flaps for the repair of burned scars in cervical regions.Methods80 patients with cervical burn scars were divided into group A (expanded deltopectoral flaps, n=40) and B (expanded forehead flaps, n=40) from January 2013 to December 2014. Two groups were followed up for 2 years. The changes of cervical remotion and cervicomental angles were compared between the two groups. The satisfaction of the two groups was recorded too.ResultsThere was no significant difference between the two groups in the effective rate(P>0.05). There was no difference of flexion, extension, left lateral bending, right lateral bending, left rotation, right rotation and cervicomental angles between the two groups (P>0.05). The satisfaction rate of the flaps in group B was higher than that of group A (P<0.05).ConclusionIt both can effectively improve the neck movement functions of patients with cervical burn scars by expanded deltopectoral flaps or expanded forehead flaps with obvious clinical efficacy and few complications. And the expanded forehead flaps have better appearance and overall aesthetic results which may be worthy more promotion.
