Abstract Abstract:ObjectiveTo compare the effect of laparoscopic totally extraperitoneal herniorrhaphy (TEP) and transabdominal preperitoneal herniorrhaphy (TAPP) in the treatment of inguinal hernia.MethodsA retrospective analysis of the clinical data of 112 patients with inguinal hernia treated in our hospital from August 2015 to August 2016 was performed. Of which, 57 cases were treated by TEP (as group TEP) and 55 cases were treated by TAPP (as group TAPP). The curative effect, complication and recurrence were compared between the two groups.ResultsThe operative time and hospitalization cost of the group TEP were less than that of the group TAPP, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). There was no statistical difference in the blood loss, hospitalization time, durante dolors, pain score at one day after the operation, complication rate and recurrence rate between the two groups (P>0.05).ConclusionsBoth TEP and TAPP can achieve a reliable curative effect for inguinal hernia with few complications. The selection of surgical procedure would be based on the specific condition of the patient and the experience of the surgeon.
