Abstract:ObjectiveTo investigate the risk factors of postoperative pulmonary complications (PPCs) after laparoscopic surgery in patients with colon cancer.MethodsA retrospective analysis of 252 patients undertaken laparoscopic colorectal surgery in the Second Xiangya Hospital of Central South University from July, 2012 to July, 2016 was made to summarize the postoperative pulmonary complications characteristics as well as the risk factors. The data was analyzed by the individual element and multiple factors analysis.
Results34 out of 252 had PPCs, and the incidence rate was 13.49%. The multivariate analysis showed that body mass index (BMI), smoking history, VAS score and ASA grade were closely related to the occurrence of PPCs (P<0.05).ConclusionAmong these risk factors, the BMI score more than 24 kg/m2, smokers, VAS score greater than 3, and ASA more than grade Ⅲ are independent risk factors for postoperative colorectal cancer patients suffering from postoperative pulmonary complications.
