Abstract: ObjectiveTo explore the effect of fasttrack management on postoperative gastrointestinal function recovery in patients undergoing laparoscopic colonic resection for cancer.MethodsFrom March 2012 to March 2016, 232 patients with colorectal cancer were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group, with 116 cases for each. Fasttrack management was used in the observation group, while the traditional rehabilitation intervention was used in the control group. It was compared of the postoperative gastrointestinal function recovery indicators and complications.ResultsThe duration of anal exhaust, first defecation time, fasting time and recovery time of bowel sounds of the observation group was significantly shorter than that of the control group. The incidence of pulmonary infection, digestive hemorrhage and incision infection in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group. Hospitalization stay of the observation group was significantly shorter than that of the control group, and the cost of hospitalization was significantly reduced. During 1 month followup, the readmission rate of the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group. All the differences were significant (P<0.05).Conclusion Fasttrack management can promote the recovery of gastrointestinal function, reduce the complication rate and shorten the hospital stay for patients undergoing laparoscopic colonic resection for cancer.
