Abstract: After the injury of brachial plexus nerve, the function of the injured limb is impaired with high disability rate and poor prognosis. The treatment of the brachial plexus nerve injury includes conservative treatment and surgical intervention. The nerve repair or transposition is the main surgical methods. The donate nerves includes the phrenic nerve, contralateral C7 nerve, intercostal nerve, accessory nerve and cervical plexus nerve for the external plexus nerve transplantation, and the ipsilateral C7 nerve, musculocutaneous nerve brachial muscle branch, partial ulnar nerve and median nerve, radial nerve brachial triceps long head muscle branch and functional free muscle transplantation for the intraplexus nerve transplantation. Facing the various methods for brachial plexus nerve injury, the appropriate treatment would be chosen based on the specific conditions of different patients to restore the function of the upper limb as effectively as possible. This article reviews the treatment progress of brachial plexus injury.
