Abstract: ObjectiveTo explore the clinical effect of internal fixation of multi-directions and multi-wires combined with cable tension band for the treatment of comminuted patellar fracture.MethodsThe clinical data of 126 cases with comminuted patellar fractures admitted from January 2012 to January 2015 was retrospective analyzed, including 73 cases of B3, 40 of C2 and 13 of C3 according to Regazzoni classification. 63 cases as the study group were treated by internal fixation of cable tension band, and the other 63 cases as the control group were performed the internal fixation of traditional steel wire tension band. The therapeutic effect was compared between two groups.ResultsThe average fracture healing time was (9.02±4.01) weeks of the study group, and it was shorter than (12.52±4.39) weeks of the control group(P<0.05). The total fracture healing rate of the study group was 100%, and it was higher than 55.56% of the control group (P<0.05). According to Bostman patella scoring, the result revealed 50 of excellence and 13 of good in the study group, and 38 of excellence, 15 of good and 10 of false in the control group. The fineness rate was higher in the study group than that in the control group (100% VS 84.13%,P<0.05). There were no postoperative complications in two groups.ConclusionThe internal fixation of multi-directions and multi-wires combined with cable tension band can achieve metastable fixation of fractured bones on involved articular facet, mini-trauma of soft tissue, and early functional exercise and prevention of fractured bones re-shifting, and it is an effective, reliable and convenient therapy for comminuted patellar comminuted fracture.
