Abstract: ObjectiveTo explore the surgical therapy and effect of high ligation of vaginal process by small transverse incision via superficial ring for the treatment of vaginal hydrocele in child.MethodsThe clinical data of 80 children with hydrocele performed high ligation of vaginal process through small transverse incision via superficial ring were analyzed retrospectively. The children aged from 1 to 9 years with an average of 3.8. The lesion located in right lateral in 45 cases and left in 35 cases. Among them, communicating hydrocele testis was 66 cases, funicular hydrocele was 10 cases, testicular hydrocele was 3 cases and recurrence of hydrocele was 1 case. ResultsAll 80 children cured after the surgery. The operation time was 10 to 25 minutes with an average of 15 minutes, and the blood loss volume was 0.5 to 2 ml with an average of 1.5 ml. The time discharged from hospital was 1 to 3 days with an average of 1.5 days.No serious complications such as injury of deferent duct and spermatic cord vessel, iatrogenic testis retraction and testis atrophy were found. No one was found recurrence during 6 months to 1 year followup.ConclusionThe high ligation of vaginal process by small transverse incision via superficial ring is an effective surgery for pediatric hydrocele with minitrauma, fast recovery and less complication.
